Type Galapagos is a software application built using Processing, that uses an evolutionary algorithm to output a generative typeface. I am interested in typography, evolutionary design, and genetic algorithms. I am also interested in replication, generative art and design and the simulation of natural processes in computer programming. I wanted to apply these ideas and experiment with creating a tool to generate new typefaces using evolution as a means for design.
